I saw "Brazil" in high school. It was impactful for me—it pushed the dystopia button in my head pretty hard!

Yes! I also saw it as a teenager. Ever since, I've watched reality imitate art.

Saw it as a teenager with a friend who believed it to be a ridiculous version of a future that he thought would never come. I stayed silent, but inside I was depressed as hell. It seemed inevitable that these things would come to pass.

Quite so. I was around the same age when I saw it, but I was in art school, so my friends were more open to the message.

Waaay too well lol... ye know that Gilliam had ta fight fer that endin'? It was no small battle either--the studio refused ta release it with the original ending (too bleak! said they) but somehow (with lawyers ha ha) Gilliam prevailed (an' bless'im fer fightin' that good fight as the end "makes" the film).

Sadly Orwell wins this round. Tho' extreme pain, torture, etc can wear a man down like Winston who sees 5 fingers for 4 at the end--an' we see that alone CAN steal even the strongest mind...includin' in MKUltra "splits" created under trauma, now in 2024 we have the tech to do it all with just frequencies (more or less)... an' light. Optogenetics...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optogenetics

What a difference a half century makes... no more croonin' "They can't take that away from me," cuz they CAN. (sorry black pill here...)

With the flip of a switch, those who choose to kin totally invade / steal / co-opt yer mind and take away even yer escapist fantasies... It sounds as dystopian as it is--an' DARPA owns the tech--it was invented as dual use--first against our so-called enemies but also for... local use. That'd be on us, enemies of the state. Too off the wall ta suggest it?

Sabrina Wallace has been blowin' the whistle on it fer some time--she's been a victim of some'a this "gang stalkin' " herself...

First up, this lady, Ramola D has a wealth of info on her (somewhat chaotic) site:

Sabrina Wallace's station here:

The internet of things now includes our brain an' remote control...indeed it's the saddest part ta lose...

Robert Duncan wuz a whistleblower on this--recently "taken out"--

https://dontspeaknews.com/2024/07/16/dr-robert-duncan-darpa-cia-targeted-individual-program-whistleblower-is-dead/

Huge fan of all them Pythons an' Gilliam's solo endeavors are brilliant. I wish we could count on his endin' here just in case...

pps the film also was prescient as ta the plastic surgery obsessions that have now exploded... the freakish countenance of the recently deceased Jocelyn Wildenstein the literal embodiment of the "Brazil-Iam's" fatuous fashions (shoe-on-head) an' artificial grotesque alterations...

Wow! As usual, you bring up things I've never heard of, but need to learn more about. So many programs and research efforts are somehow outside the bounds of respectable discourse.

yup, what was once unimaginable (at least when Brazil was scripted) is doable an' it's literally more frighten'in' ta me than any torture that they can, indeed, "steal yer mind" an' do it "hands off" (no Marathon Man dental drills, no room 101 needed...) -- They use a (wince!) JOYSTICK. Or the click of a mouse... or the press of a button. Clean/ruthless.

Duncan was an operator 'fore he became a whistleblower. He DID THIS to people... for years. It's real... lotta predictive programmin' fer this too...

It's not that new but now they just got so good at'it there are a lot MORE victims (first they just 'sperimented on enlisted men / military, now regular citizens)-- The clot shots make their cruel werk even easier... beyond sci-fi, this is serious death cult control-the-deplorables tech so steel yerself an' give it a look-see (yipes!) -- Such disreputable discourse has gone on outside our public purview fer a loooong time!
