Thank you for this cogent, precise and incisive commentary describing much of what is wrong with our current state of media, social and political discourse and general societal 'maladjustment' and from whence it has all arisen. I have been astonished at the contempt and derision showered upon inquisitive, responsible individuals for 'doing their own research' aka READING when seeking to make careful, considered decisions about caring for themselves and their loved ones in the context of the 'pandemic.' The view that only those with degrees and professionally recognized credentials are capable of forming reasonable opinions and coming to correct conclusions about any subject is suppressive, repressive, regressive, obstructionist, short-sighted, elitist and just plain snobby.
